Investment officer

General Description

Under the supervision of the VP Development, and in close collaboration with the Director of Operations, the Investment Officer is responsible for identifying business and financing opportunities that have the potential to promote the interests of the businesses that benefit from Espace-inc’s coaching services. The Investment Officer manages and promotes the different financial support programs, assists entrepreneurs in the preparation of their financing requests as well as in their relations with investors.

 

Here are the key responsibilities at the core of this role :

  • Identify the needs and challenges of our entrepreneurs in order to make recommendations on financing strategies
  • Develop and maintain lasting relationships with our entrepreneurs and Lead Coaches
  • Develop and organize the team of external experts that provides accounting and business financing support
  • Develop and maintain the business financing network : subsidies, financial institutions, private investors
  • Analyze and interpret financial data
  • Provide support and coach entrepreneurs in their search for financing
  • Provide support in the preparation, analysis and management of financing requests
  • Coach entrepreneurs in the art of negotiating and ensuring an optimal as well as coherent management of various funding agreements
  • Monitor programs and funds for new financing opportunities 

 

You are a person who : 

  • Possesses 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in an entrepreneurial context in the financial sector
  • Possesses experience in financing innovative startups
  • Has experience in launching a startup or a SME (an asset)
  • Is oriented towards action, results and problem solving
  • Holds a relevant university degree 
  • Has proven expertise in business development
  • Is organized, structured and rigorous
  • Is comfortable with technology
  • Has an excellent master of French and English both orally and in writing
